Architect Mardonio "Mar" Cempron is a native of Bohol, Jetafe. Born on December 23, 1941, he was the youngest among the four siblings. His father died just before he was born and so they were raised by a mother working to make a living as a teacher. Dreaming of becoming an artist, he always wanted to take up Fine Arts yet ended up with architecture, being the only course akin to his liking as Fine Arts is not offered in any schools in his home town, not even as far as Cebu. He graduated in Cebu Institute of Technology and started a career as an architect with the determination of becoming an artist someday. And so it became.
